KellyMom Logo Contest

July 30, 2011. Posted in: Blog Posts

I’ve narrowed the logos down to eight finalists. Please vote and let me know what you like and don’t like about the logos in the comments below. I will be choosing the final design myself, but I want to see your opinions on the logos before I make my choice.

The logos with the trees confuse me (especially the one with just one leaf). They look more environmental than breastfeeding/parenting; the one with the heart leaves the least so, but still environmental. And the one with the handshake looks more clinical and more about older children, not infants. Definitely the two with mom/baby images in a heart shape are my favorite.

I like the connotations of the hearts and trees: love, growth, nurture, knowledge, spreading branches, keeping roots, grounded, natural…  The tree trunk that rises right out of the ls in KellyMom particularly appeals – so soft and curvy.

I also like the child silhouetted inside the adult, the child could be facing in and breastfeeding or hugging, or looking out at the world near the sanctuary of a parent/guardian.

#2, then #1. I agree with the pp on the rest – they look more environmental or medical.

I love the first one! The other ones seen kind of formal, like they should be on a product or something.

I like the first one, but I would like it more in purple and blue.
To be honest, I prefer the current logo to any of them..

I really like the first one of a mom snuggling her baby. Sometimes I don’t even realize how much I kiss and snuggle my little one. :) I see the value in the handshake one but as I’m not shaking my baby’s hand and one is smaller which indicates either kid or lower status I don’t like it as much. The tree ones are nice for the all natural theme of breastfeeding, but that first one is just great. Thanks for all that you do for us. I tell all of my mom friends about Kellymom, such a wonderful valuable resource.

The one with the pretty tree growing from the l’s in the word Kelly makes me feel natural and strong, yet sensitive, caring and loving. I think a lot of thought went into creating that very original and creative design.

Are we still able to look at the older submissions somehow?

It’s unfortunate some of the earlier designs didn’t make the cut. I suspect the voting would’ve gone quite differently if that was that the case, since it looks like some of the top designers had other versions that the public might’ve responded better to.

Also, the heart design is missing the T in “breastfeeding” and the circular design appears plagiarized from this organization: http://cfmidwifery.org/PDF/mmoc_brochure.pdf Would you consider giving the submission’s a second go-around? I assume both the mistakes above were accidental.
