Non-fermented red clover is reported relatively safe for nursing moms. However, fermented red clover should be avoided altogether. There is no evidence to indicate that intermittent intake of moderate amounts of rosemary poses any threat during pregnancy or lactation. However, internal intake of the oil should be avoided during pregnancy because it may act as an abortifacient. A rosemary infusion is suggested for use in warm compresses when treating mastitis. As far as I can determine, this shouldn't pose a problem for the breastfeeding baby. However, for anyone considering royal jelly or similar things such as bee pollen:
So if you have asthma or allergies, be aware that royal jelly or bee pollen can cause serious allergic reactions. [top]
